Lexington Medical Lodge
COVID-19 Update
As we continue to navigate Covid-19 and the various variants, Lexington Medical Lodge continues to put physical and emotional well-being at the forefront of everything we do for our residents, staff and families. We will continue to follow all CDC and HHSC guidelines concerning coronavirus. Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding coronavirus information in the facility.
Coronavirus Vaccine Requirements:
Staff - if the vaccine mandate stands, Lexington will follow those requirements for all of our staff. If the vaccine mandate is not upheld, we will strongly encourage our staff to be vaccinated and for those who do not choose to be vaccinated we will continue regular testing.
Residents - The vaccine is not required for residents. We encourage vaccination and will provide periodic vaccination clinics. We do note vaccination status upon admission and follow quarantine guidelines where needed.
Visitation policy: We recognize that being able to spend time with friends and family is as important as physical and medical care at Lexington. We do not have any specific visitation limits. We screen all visitors at the door for Covid symptoms including taking temperature. We ask that all visitors wear their face mask at all times while in the facility. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the resident room, but are allowed to visit in the common areas. We ask that visitors be respectful of roommate privacy. We have multiple common areas available for visitation if visitation in the resident room is not the best option.
Covid Testing: We do not routinely test residents unless they are exhibiting symptoms or should there be any breakthrough cases of any staff or resident in the facility that would necessitate testing.
Covid Cases: Any positive Covid cases in the facility will be noted on our front door and a call will be made to all primary resident contacts to inform. Positive residents would be transferred to a Covid unit for recovery and positive staff would be sent home for self isolation and recovery.
